Brent Allen Winters

Biblical Hebrew class set to begin March 1

TERRE HAUTE — Christian radio station WPFR, in partnership with The Open Door Christian Book Store and Senior Education Ministries Inc., has scheduled Biblical Hebrew for Beginners.

Hebrew is the original language of the Old Testament. Its lively yet earthy character is key to the entire Bible. Using Hebrew, Almighty God spoke forth the Torah to Moses. Using Hebrew, Jesus learned and studied Scripture. Some even say—and with good reason—that Almighty God used Hebrew to speak the worlds into place and frame them. Learning Hebrew adds color to history’s black-and-white picture. By learning Hebrew, you can know the Bible even better. Hebrew is simple, yet profound; concrete, yet delicate—but above all, Hebrew is fun.

Beginning Monday, March 1, and each Monday during the month, Brent Allan Winters will teach Beginner’s Hebrew at The Open Door Christian Book Store, at 3125 S. Third Place in Terre Haute, just west of Honey Creek Mall. The class takes place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Brent Allan Winters grew up on a farm in Clark County Ill., and is a practicing lawyer. He served aboard aircraft carrier USS Coral Sea in Mobile Diving Unit 1, Pearl Harbor, and as an Army Reserve chaplain. Following military service, Brent worked as a mining geologist. Brent and Susan, his wife of 32 years, volunteer at Christian radio station WPFR. They have eight children and three grandchildren.

Brent is the author of “Excellence of the Common Law” and “The Common Lawyer’s Declaration of Independence and Constitution for Practical American Freemanship – Including Jury Duty” and believes that American affinity for common law and government is a product of biblical faith. Brent has studied Old Testament Hebrew for the past 29 years. There is no charge for the class. However, a $10 donation per person is requested to cover the cost of course materials and to help defray the fuel costs for the instructor.

By the end of the March, students will be able to recite and write the Hebrew alphabet and look up words in the Hebrew lexicons. Class size is limited. Reserve your spot now by calling Senior Education Ministries Inc. at (812) 917-4970 or toll-free at 1-877-223-6109.
